The relations between Pakistan and China were always remained friendly. The first step of Pakistani government in the right direction was the recognition of People Republic of China. Pakistan was among the very first countries, which extended its recognition to the People Republic of China and also Mao dsepung communist government. With the passage of time these relations boosted up to a high level. These relations were further strengthened by the China support to Pakistan in wars of 1965 and 1971 with India.

After 1970 Pakistan relations with china had been particularly good. Pakistan acted as a broker between USA and China. Several Pakistani delegations have visited China. Pakistan had also concluded a border treaty with China. The Afghan crisis of 1979 also contributed to cordial relations and Chinese government fully supported Pakistan.
